Care Guide

Tread Wear

Tread wear directly affects the driver’s safety and performance of the vehicle. It is essential that drivers know how to check their tyre tread and so so on a regular basis.

Importance of Checking for Tread Wear

  • The deeper the groove, which is on the surface of the tyre, the more grip a tyre will have. You can prevent danger of unexpected accidents by checking the tread regularly.

Recommended Interval Between Check-ups

  • Hankook recommends that you check for tread wear at least once a month. Also, make sure you check your tyres before and after a long journey.

Checking for Tread Wear with Tread Wear Indicator

  • To ensure optimum safety and performance, we strongly recommend that tyres are replaced before they reach the minimum legal tyre tread depth limit of 1.6mm, this is to reduce the risk of aquaplaning and braking performances in wet road conditions.
